Our trainees participated in the District Sports Meet held at Chingleput on 20th November 2018 and took part in  100 metres Running Race.

EXCLUSIVE PSYCHIATRIC CAMP AT SAI SAMARPAN

The SGF Trust organized a Psychiatric Camp on 17th December 2017 which was piloted by one of the Trustees a senior Neuro Psychiatrist  Dr. C.J.Maikandaan MD (NIMHANS) alongwith two other Doctors MD Psychiatry.The Psychiatric consultation and counseling services were offered from 10.30 am to 3 pm and availed by 25 special children and their family. Refreshments and Lunch was arranged for all the participants and the consultation and counseling services availed  was  very much appreciated  by all the special parents. They have also requested for quarterly follow up camps.

WORLD DISABLED DAY CELEBRATION

On 3rd December 2017, the Trust celebrated the World Disabled Day by donating Personal Hygiene kits  to 10 special children from economically weaker families. The Kit  consisted of Daily Care items such as Tooth Paste with Brush,  bathing soap with a soap box, a quality towel, shampoo bottle, a hair oil bottle, a compact mirror, comb, talcum powder,  handtowel and a nailcutter in an attractive Jute bag costing Rs.550/- The entire cost was sponsored by the Trustee Mrs Alamelu Sivaraman and Trustee  Shri.Padmanabhan Advocate Chennai High Court. The function was attended by two more  Special Children families and there was also entertainment for the special children. There was  music and dance performance by all the Special children which they enjoyed thoroughly. Lunch and refreshments were arranged by the Managing Trustee for  all the participants of the programme .

SAI SAMARPAN VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE FOR THE DIFFERENTLY ABLED

 In November 2017 a Vocational Training Centre  “SAI SAMARPAN” was started at the new spacious premises of the Managing Trustee at Irandamkattalai . This spacious premises with an attractive garden  has been  offered at a concessional rent to the Trust,  by the Managing Trustee. The centre was on pilot run for a month and started functioning in full swing since December 2017. Two experienced staff have been engaged by the Trust to take up the training activities for the special children.

SPORTS CUM REHABILITATION CAMP

In July 2017 a Special  Rehabilitation Sports camp was conducted at the spacious new premises of the Managing Trustee Plot No.A4/A5 Everest Garden, Irandamkattalai for the special children of Deepam School. The Sports event was organized in co ordination with Dr.Radhika Bharath,Msc.PT (Glasgow,UK) CDNT, Lymphedema Therapist(MCCF) and  their Unit,   EMERGING FIT,( A PHYSIOTHERAPY & REHAB CENTRE)  at New No.33, Old No.29, Trustpuram 2nd Main Road Kodambakkam, Chennai 600024.

2016

DENTAL HEALTH CHECK UP & AWARENESS CAMP

In August 2016 a Dental health check up  camp was  arranged by SGF Trust in coordination with Saveetha Dental College, Chennai  and about 35 special children of Deepam Special School got benefitted from the camp Doctors and the team from Saveetha Dental College also distributed follow up cards to the special children so that they can avail free follow up dental care and check up at the hospital later on.

YOGA AWARENESS CAMP

Along with the Dental camp yoga exercises were also taken up under the guidance of Yoga Master Shri. R.Venkatraman and Smt.Lakshmi Venkatraman for the special children of Deepam School. Some healing techniques were also shared by the Yoga Master with  the parents of the special children. The children were also taught simple pranayama exercises.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS TO THE ORPHANAGE

In June 2016 SGF Trust  had arranged for School Uniforms for the Children put up in the Gurukulam Home at Madurantakam through a Social Worker Mrs. Amirtha. The Home has requested for a printer to replace their old worn out printer which has since been arranged for by the Trust at a cost of Rs.4800/-.

2015

PROVIDING RELIEF TO FLOOD AFFECTED VICTIMS.

SGF Trust also provided relief to flood affected victims of Chennai in Dec 2015 and 6 affected families were provided with financial assistance to the tune of Rs.40000/- apart from clothings etc.

SECOND MEDICAL CAMP – SGF TRUST WITH CHENNAI SPECIALITY KLINIC

SGF 2nd Medical Camp was held on the 21st of Aug 2015 for the special children  of Deepam School for Special Children & their parents, Dharmaraja Kovil Street Kilpak at their Park Road Branch. The Park Road branch children also participated in the Medical camp alongwith their parents.

The Medical Camp was organized in co ordination with Dr. Meera Raghavan of The Chennai Speciality Klinic, Besant Nagar, Chennai. and her team of doctors and nurses. Nearly 40 children,their parents and the special school teachers also benefited by the Health Camp.

Refreshments and lunch and the medical kit expenses were met by the SGF.

The Special Children were also provided with Painting Note Books to keep them engaged during the Medical Camp which was a grand success. The School  represented for a follow up Medical Camp.

OTHER WELFARE ACTIVITIES

SGF Trust has adopted two poor children  children of a house maid and supported their education by remitting the fees directly to the school. This was taken up when the elder child was in 10th standard and her brother in 8th standard. The children are doing well and the elder one is now in Plus two and the younger one in 10th standard. The elder one Ms.V alarmathy had scored more than 60% in 10th Standard and is confident of better performance in Plus 2.

 

2014

FIRST MEDICAL CAMP BY SGF TRUST

 

The  Turst conducted its first Medical Camp  on the 10th of October 2014.A  Comprehensive health check up was arranged for the special children of the Cantonment Board School at Neyam. The Health Camp was coordinated with the help of Chennai Speciality Klinic, Besant Nagar, Chennai. The Chief Doctors Dr.Raghavan and Dr.Meera Raghavan took active part in the conduct of the Health Camp. Nearly 50 children benefitted from the Health Camp. Lunch and other incidental expenses including Gift for the Special Children were provided by the SAI Ganesh Foundation.
